Cloud Infrastructure
Infrastructure deployed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
The public cloud infrastructure has been deployed using Terraform, an infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tool that makes it possible to define and manage infrastructure declaratively. Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is used as the cloud provider.
The infrastructure deployed on GCP includes the following components:
- Kubernetes cluster: A GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) cluster that manages containers and services deployed in the cloud.
- Virtual Private Cloud (VPC): A virtual private network that provides isolation and security for cloud resources.
- Subnets: Subnets within the VPC that organize resources and provide connectivity.
The CI/CD pipeline provisions the entire infrastructure defined in the Terraform code. As with the application CI/CD pipeline, the Terraform-GCP-IaC project includes a .gitlab-ci.yml file at its root, which references pipelines in the ci-pipelines project to execute infrastructure provisioning and destruction stages.
